MAY NEWS

Michael attended the Mid-A ASCA herding trials on May 15-16 in Buckeystown, MD. We are very happy to report that River Winds Sgt. Rock, HSAs, STDs, call name Bedford, came home with his Open Sheep title. Our veteran girl CH. River Winds Hippolita, HSAs, call name Polly, earned her Started Sheep title. We are very proud of these harding working dogs!

Michael attended the CWCC AKC herding trials this past weekend. Fallon qualified and placed 4th in the Intermediate class on Saturday. On Sunday Polly not to be outdone by her daughter qualified and placed 2nd in the Intermediate class. Way to go girls!!!!! We are so proud of you!

River Winds Heart Desire at Shaman, Lark, was Winners Bitch-Best of Winners for a 3 point Major on Saturday in Raleigh, NC under judge Robert Frost. Lark is owned by Gail Marcotte and expertly shown by Susan Markley.  Way to go girls! We are so proud of you!!

DECEMBER

Our dogs have really had a blast with the two feet of snow we received over the weekend. Things are pretty quiet on the show front. We will be going to Fredericksburg next month.

Michael and I would like to take this time to wish all of you a blessed and joyous Christmas amd a prosperous New Year.

NOVEMBER NEWS

On November 1st I had the great pleasure to attend the first annual NASA Club Speciality in Lutterworth, England. This was the first club show where CC’s ( Challenge Certificates ) were available. River Winds Secret Operator, Liam, took the Reserve CC. Liam is expertly shown, loved and owned by Lisa Bridges of Liskarn Kennel. Thank you Lisa for a job well done.

On November 14 & 15, Michael attended an AKC herding trial  held at Dawgwood Farm in Goldvein, VA. On Saturday River Winds Sgt. Rock HSAs, HIAs, Bedford, finished his intermediate title with a score of 80.5 and a 1st place under judge Doyle Ivie. Bedford is currently ranked #2 in USASA ( United States Australian Shepherd Association ) stats for Intermediate Herding. Bedford is owned by Michael Wilson and was co-bred with Ellen Brandenburg and Amy Garrison of Thornapple Australian Shepherds. Saturday also saw River Winds Bayshore Secret Recipe, HSAs, Fallon qualify in Herding Started with a score of 77.5. Sunday Fallon qualified again with a score of  87.5 and also went on to Reserve High in Trial. Fallon is owned by Karen and Michael Wilson and J. Frank Baylis of Bayshore Kennel. We are so proud of this young lady. Fallon is working on finishing her Championship and will make her debut shortly at the Intermediate level in herding.

July 2008

Liam does it again. This time he takes the Challenge Certificate and BOB at the NWPB Championship Show. He also makes the cut in the Group. Winning the Challenge Certificate gives Liam a lifetime qualification for Crufts. Job well done to Lisa and Liam!!!!!! We are so proud of you. We can’t wait to see you in the ring at Crufts next year!


CH. River Winds Hippolita, Polly, attended an AHBA herding trial at Keepstone Farm. On Saturday Polly qualified in HTD I with a score of 79 out of 90. On Sunday she scored 88.5 for 1st place. She also qualified in HTAD1 on Sunday with a score of 84.5 and a 3rd place. Way to go Polly!

Fallon completes the requirements for her Herding Test title ( HT ). Watch for Fallon on the trial field soon!


June 2008

Liam continues his winning ways. June was a wonderful month. Our most sincere thanks to Jayne Holligan ( Applefire ) and Lisa Bridges ( Liskarn ) for doing such a wonderful job with our boy!

Border Union Championship Show – BOB  Judge Fiona Miller  16 Aussies
South Wales Championship Show – BOB Judge Geoff Gatenby – 28 Aussies

CH. River Winds Charlie Trotter, PT, HSAs finished his Rally Novice title receiving a score of 96. Charlie will be moving on to Rally Advanced and Novice Obedience.

CH. River Winds Charlie Trotter, PT, HSAs, earned his second leg toward his Rally Novice title. Way to go Charlie!


River Winds Sgt. Rock, HT, PT, HSAs STDc Bedford earns his second leg on Sheep to complete his Started Sheep tittle in ASCA. Bedford also has one leg toward his Started Duck tittle.


April 2008

USASA Nationals where held this year in Greeley Colorado. We had a wonderful time catching up with old friends and making some new ones too. I think that this was our best Nationals ever. We are so proud of our dogs they did really well.

 

 

CH. River Winds Charlie Trotter PT, HSAs earned his first leg on his Rally Novice title.

 

 

River Winds Morag of Dunvegan, PT, HSAs placed third in Veteran Sweepstakes and placed fourth in the regular Veterans Class. Morag had a wonderful time strutting her stuff in the Veterans ring

River Winds Bayshore Secret Recipe earned her fist leg toward her Herding Test title.

 

 

CH. River Winds Hippolita qualified both days in a very tough Herding Started class. Not only did Polly qualify she placed third out of thirteen on Monday and was in a three way tie for second place, out of seventeen, ending up with a fourth place. We are so proud of Miss Polly!
